PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE- Peter Hughes
Welcome to our annual show.
Last year we celebrated a huge milestone of 110 years of “showtime” in Port Lincoln. We celebrated this big occasion in style last October at the Grand Tasman Hotel. Our show was established in 1904 and it is the longest running community event in Port Lincoln.
We are keeping the country show tradition going in our community and have been busy putting together another action packed show this year. The country show is an opportunity to showcase the local talent in our community whether it be with your chooks, your pony, your needlework, your gardening skills, your artwork or if your talent lies elsewhere…we want you to display it!! We are looking forward to receiving a lot of entries in all sections in our pavilion, poultry pavilion and in the horse arena.
We have CIRCUS ELEMENTS entertaining us with roving performances, a circus workshop and then a performance… Also we have a fantastic musician from Melbourne playing easy listening South American music. I have observed this great musician at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden show for a couple of years and he is sure to impress. Keep a watch out for these talented performers. Also on the main stage will be our local talent, local school choirs, bands, musicians and singers.
A big THANK YOU to my fantastic committee, members, volunteers and our sponsors for your support. We are very thankful to the many sponsors who support our show enabling us to continue to provide a variety of interesting entertainment and activities.
We greatly appreciate the support and entries that we receive from exhibitors of the community and people from all over the Eyre Peninsula. My hard working volunteer committee deserve many accolades as our community show gets better and bigger each year.
PLEASE enter in as many sections as you can and help make our show another success. REMEMBER, this is your show as well, let’s make it a good one.
